If you are using the print at home option for your pattern, you will need to assemble the pattern before you can cut it out of the fabric. Many sewists hate this step; some to the point that they won’t buy digital PDF patterns because of it.
While assembling PDF patterns isn’t my favorite step, by any means, I honestly don’t mind it too much. Today, I’d like to share my process of how I get them all together. I’d love to hear other tips and tricks for this step, as well. Please share your thoughts in the comments!
Assemble the Pattern
Tape pages into rows
Tape rows together
Tape corners and adjust and layout issues
Tape along pages where pattern piece crosses page
This is my process for making the assembly of the PDF files go quickly yet accurately.
Next step I’ll be talking about staystitching, side seams and seam finishing. Stay tuned!
